WHY USE DIRECT NATIONAL FILM

High quality copolymer resin is used in all Direct National laminating film products.  The copolymer resin is crystal clear and has higher adhesion properties. The copolymer adds to the bonding strength. The bonding strength of adhesive in some other film is only one sixth to that of Direct National Film!  Laminating items with other film may lead to the film peeling away.

Laminating film thickness is measured in microns. The most commonly used thickness is 80 micron. However, 80 micron film from different manufacturers is made up of differing proportions of polyester to resin. High quality films have a thick polyester and thin resin coating, which is why better quality laminating film is ‘stiffer’ to bend. Direct National 80 micron film is made up of 50 microns photo-grade polyester and 30 microns of resin. That is why it is stiff and wonderfully clear. Cheap and nasty film can almost completely reverse that ratio to 48 microns of resin and 32 microns polyester. That is why they feel soft, and are not as clear as Direct National.

Some inferior films are not the actual micron they say that they are! Also, because the film has been pre-stretched, your machine handles the job easier, so saving wear and tear on motor and gears

THE FORMAT

Direct National Pouches are individually die pressed from two rolls of pre-stretched polyester. This means you get the exact size and eliminates the ‘waves’ that can occur in cheap guillotine cut pouches.

Direct National Rolls are matched in pairs and are labelled ‘Top’ and “Bottom’. Direct National is the only company to do this and it eliminates corner to corner curling. Your laminated item stays flat. Direct National Rolls contain anti-static properties so as not to attract dust or lint also ensuring the operator does not suffer from electric shocks which are mainly due to static build up.
